What does success mean to you?
Success and succeeding can mean very different things in different contexts, and require different skills depending on the situation.
For instance, in normal life we may not see lying as a virtue (except, perhaps, for the odd complimentary white lie). However in certain contexts, such as when playing poker, lying can be a valuable attribute. In fact it is, by the very nature of the game, a necessary skill to acquire if you have any intention of winning (think poker face).
When it comes to games that involve deception, your secret to success may often depend on your ability to lie well, not just with your words, but with your non-verbals, your body language. If you’re on a winning streak your body, heart rate, gestures, pupils and other tell-tale signs may give you away – so it can take a masterful level of self-awareness, control and emotional intelligence to monitor these signals and consciously hide (or at best, minimise) them, in order to have a chance of winning. What exactly happens when you tell a lie? Find answers in this brilliant infographic.
So I do totally agree with Harvard-trained brain experts Jeff Brown and Mark Fenske, that winning has little to do with IQ, your circumstances, your financial resources, or even luck. As they have put in their brilliant book ‘The Winner’s Brain‘, success has everything to do with creating a failure-resistant brain.
One could even say that the key to success is to take charge of your brain. But how do you do that? Well, you can identify the secrets, hot to win from those who succeed no matter what…
Here is an infographic that gives you 8 secrets revealing how to create a failure-resistant brain, based on the experiences of winning personalities and how they made their way to the top – including celebrities B.B. Here are 8 brain hacks you can use, based on how these winners think differently and rewire their brains for success:
